No Man Knoweth

No Man Knoweth – Ok, let’s not overthink this, as Baptists tend to do. “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I’ve been a Baptist since the age of 9, and one thing Baptists are good at is creating reasons to break fellowship with other saints while touting their doctrinal position as the only view.

Well, I will offer a lesson in eschatology that will allow you never to buy a book, attend a class, or argue with the next theologian or scholar looming down the next turn in the path of Biblical “knowledge.”

Here it is. Are you ready? Whether you consider yourself pre-trib, mid-trib, or pos-trib is a huge waste of time in the walk for Christ. Why? Simple! “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

Days are part of weeks, weeks are part of months, months are part of years, and years are part of periods. No man knows, not even your stance on pre, mid, or post-trib makes any difference in the Truth which is above our Spiritual paygrade. Here’s eschatology in a nutshell, and no more discussion, argument, fighting, separation, or lack of fellowship is needed: “Jesus is coming back to take us out of this mess, we don’t know when and we have a job to do, be ready for the return. No more study needed”

If you want to plant your feet solid on the important issues, how about these? https://donporterjr.us/fundapreference/

  1. Virgin Birth
  2. Deity of Christ
  3. Substitutionary Death of Christ
  4. Resurrection of Jesus
  5. Verbal Inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures
  6. Christ will come in the air and back to earth

How about the Romans Road, John 3:16, and the Great Commission?
